When is a good time to get started?
Like most Cub Scout Packs, we go year-round. You can become a scout at any time. If you're interested in learning more about our pack, have questions, or would like to join, please contact our membership coordinator today.
When do we meet?
Pack Meetings
are held once per month, and all of our scouts (K-5th grade) get together in the same place. The Cubmaster normally leads the meeting. Keep an eye on the calendar for the date. You are welcome to stop by if you are considering joining the pack. We gear the meeting towards the kids, and the goal is to have fun and recognize them for their recent accomplishments (with awards, pins, loops, badges, and whatever else we dream up).
Den Meetings
(smaller grade level groups) are normally held 1-2 times a month and when there are specific outings.
What is the Cost of Joining?
First, don't let the cost deter you. It's not that expensive, and our Pack can assist if you need help. The person to see about assistance is the Committee Chair. This will be kept confidential between you and them, but you can address that later.
Second, our annual pack dues are $200, and the appropriate handbook is under $25.00. A new uniform runs around $80.00 (depends), but the shirt is suitable for several years, so uniform costs do go down as you move through the ranks.
How do I join the Pack?
Are you an existing member of Pack 585?
If so, and if you paid your dues for last school year, you'll still be on our charter, so you will just need to renew your membership by paying your 2025-2026 dues.
Are you a new member of Pack 585?
If so, you'll want to first reach out to our Membership Coordinator to obtain information about the pack and fill out an application. After you do this you can pay your 2025-2026 dues.
Please reach out to the Committee Chair if you are unable to pay the fees up front. We can work with you. Scouting is quite reasonable considering all that your son or daughter will be doing throughout the year. Don't let the cost deter you from making a decision.
